July 2026
Our Fall 2026 container is due early October! We have a great selection coming on this container, to include some of just about everything listed on the website - but order soon, as items are being reserved by our customers daily! We are taking reserve orders and shipping upon arrival. There is still NO SALES TAX on goods shipping from Oregon, but the 10% tariff surcharge will remain in effect for now, as we paid 41.5% on our Spring container, but we hope to do away with it soon.
Tips on beating the high cost of shipping:
Larger stone lanterns and basins must ship via pallet freight. Smaller lanterns and basins can be shipped via UPS for much less, as long as there is no single piece over 70lbs. We have seen a steady increase in common freight shipping costs the last few years as fuel and labor costs have risen significantly in the trucking industry. We have a few suggestions on HOW TO GET THE BEST FREIGHT VALUE when purchasing these goods:
1. Purchase multiple items if you can - due to common freight carrier pricing structure, it is about the same to pallet ship one item as it is two or three up to around 500 lbs. Costs go up from there but not radically. Only want one item? Ask a friend if they want to place an order and split the pallet freight to one home or the other!
2. Belong to a garden club? Get members together and make a group purchase to share freight costs as long as we ship to one location!
3. Know a local business owner who has a loading dock and/or forklift? Ask them if you can have your order shipped there. You can save some substantially doing that. Another option if you have a truck and live near a major metro area - consider going to the freight terminal to pickup your order and avoid residential liftgate charges.
4. Lastly, please understand that your purchase of a real stone lantern or basin is an investment that will last lifetimes. If you extend the cost of shipping over the life of your lantern, it's a great value as opposed to a concrete or resin "fake" that may last 10 years, if that, due to degradation from freeze/thaw cycles and UV exposure. It's a "buy once, cry once" philosophy with out products - we understand it isn't cheap, but nothing worth having is!
Note that an item listed as "STOCK ITEM" won't mean that it is always in stock, just that it is something we order for inventory on a regular basis. "SPECIAL ORDER" Usually means that we typically don't order this size or type in on a regular basis unless requested by a customer but, this is not always the case so check with us to be sure. special orders are usually available with a 3-4 month lead time depending on when the order is placed in relation to the timing of our containers which are usually landing in spring and fall.
